On his new album 'MEANDERING' (MeixMusic 2022), critically acclaimed saxophonist and composer Alexander 'Sandi' Kuhn walks musically on the paths of his hometown Stuttgart/Germany. Selected places, together with their people, objects, moods and events, serve as the basic impulses for his new compositions and are brought to life musically.

On his fourth release as a bandleader, Sandi Kuhn merges American and European influences with great ease and creates 'songs' that bear his distinctive signature, with strong melodies, harmonic finesse and a large portion of soul: sometimes sensual and soulful, sometimes rousingly modern, always with depth and charisma. The same attributes can also be applied to his saxophone playing. With his unique sound, he is constantly on the lookout for tangible melodic motifs from which he develops his colorful lyrical improvisations with great clarity.

With pianist Volker Engelberth, bassist Jens Loh and drummer Axel Pape, Alexander 'Sandi' Kuhn once again gathers his longtime musical companions around him. As a permanent 'working band’, the quartet has steadily evolved over the past ten years. The four musicians put their playing unconditionally at the service of the music and interact with blind trust and playfulness, without ever giving up their individuality.
